A Christmas to Remember

I spent this holiday season in a ridiculously warm climate–a fact that is constantly discussed with my California-native partner, Jamie, who is surprised to find that I expect cold weather for the holidays. Although it is an obvious fact, it was still startling to confront. I think in some ways, I did not really treat December 25 as Christmas. Not only was it not cold outside (which I firmly maintain is requisite for celebrating) but Christmas here is a different matter than it is in America.
