Bungu

To finish off my very busy week (all three field trips in a row, eating popcorn for dinner, and feeling thoroughly tired at the end of each night) I traveled to one of the mountain villages for our monthly village meeting. I had only visited once before, and briefly, because my piki driver had gotten confused and driven to the wrong village (a funny joke now but at the time a very frustrating example of the frustrating nature of the male ego). I was happy to return once again for a proper stay. The drive up the mountain is spectacular. The views are phenomenal and the air gets cooler and the experience is so special. The mountains are more like a jungle and there are trees everywhere…
